Thinking of going Vegatarian.... Any vegatarians here? IF yes, please share your path.
I go through phases. I'll eat something over and over and over until I can't stand it and then move on to something else. I never force myself to eat ANYTHING I don't want to eat.
Count your protein and do your shakes and I think you will be fine. Try new ways to get protein. Crab legs? New kinds of cheeses? Eggs cooked different ways?

Hi SHIREEN! Good to see you dear!!
I went vegetarian (a few days lol) pre-op but I found I craved hamburgers so bad I knew it wasn't for me. My Vegan/organic obese sister tells me how I might get thin but her insides will be healthier than mine-( will anyone notice?) lol
I do ponder sometimes if I am doing the red meat a little too often tho . .and like you said they do pump so many things into the animals the thought is scarey long terms for us DSers perhaps
I dont do shakes regularly as I have to be in the mood. I would say go ahead & try it if meat isnt sitting well for you and you love the shakes.
I seem to need endless variety but if you find any good recipes we can always do a meatless Monday for the heck of it too. Let me know how it goes for you!

I didn't read the other replies yet, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating.
You're likely to be able to get your protein in with food and shakes, but chances are that you won't be able to keep your carbs very low.
Here's some information on the vegan diet. They give the down and dirty on "real" vegetables!

Of course, as a vegetarian or pescatarian, you have some additional options for getting in lower-carb sources of protein.

Most days, my diet is very vegetarian. I am just not fond of the texture of meat and even eggs most times. Even fish/shellfish i**** or miss but usually a miss. I am sometimes okay with tuna or egg salad.
I get my protein primarily through shakes (Champion Nutrition, Syntrax Nectar and Click) and my labs are fine. I also seem to digest them much better than meat protein sources.
