And I am trying to picture how the hell one gets in 100 grams of protein mainly from food.
( when she is done with the healing period ) I was reading somewhere where it said that your supposed to get the majority of your protein from food and not shakes.

What does an average protein intake look like for you when your not relying on protein shakes for your protein needs ? I'm going to bookmark this for her.

Frequent, small meals comprised mostly of protein foods. Not so hard once the swelling in your stomach goes down. 1 can of tuna  has 32 grams of protein, 1 egg has 6 grams, 1 oz. of cheese has about 8 grams.

1 can of Costco chicken breast with ALL THE MAYO SHE WANTS has 72 g protein.

Remind her, the goal is 30 g/day by day 30, 60 g/day by day 60, 90 g by day 90.  She doesn't need 100 g/day NOW.

Snacking, I get 20-25 grams from bfast which is 2-3 eggs and cheese, snack like cheese etc, lunch meat sandwhich, snack, dinner, breaking down 20/20/20 then 10-15 for snacks easy peasy for the 100grams, I get busy so a shake satisfies me for bfast and snack which is about 60 grams, leaving 40-60 for the rest of the day which is super easy w/2 meals... I camped w/my cousin who has the LB and is a sickly person because she NEVER eats and when she does its junk food/sugar, she's lost weight but looks like death, I kept throwing down yummy ways for protein and gave her sips of my protein coffee...Praying this makes a difference with her diet because I am worried about her health and would LOVE to see her switch to DS, she got her band 2 years ago at between 260-280 lbs, she is about 215/210 now, I am 216 and its been 5 months since my DS and I eat ALL day long and love it

I feel bad about your friend, the lap band has harmed so many people   I should know since I had two of the dumb ass things. You would think that all the negative reviews it gets on the main forum...that people would stop wanting it.

Thanks for the tips.

But, as you were told, that 100g is for MONTHS from now.  Meanwhile...find 30 nin here and see if she can handle it.  And go to www.dssurgery.com/program/patient-workbook.php and download the food part of the patient workbook.
