BCBS Federal & CPT code for DS?

Is there any of you folks that have BCBS Federal?   I have a VSG now and I want to get the DS part done.  I have not seen a doctor yet.  I plan on seeing if Dr. Daryl Stewart would be my surgeon.  I have to get my records sent to him. 

Also, do you know what the CPT code is for DS?

The best way to find out what CPT code it is:
Call you surgeons office and ask for the CPT coder or for insurance Guru. They should know :)
Also remember to ask them to code it correct to have Fep BCBS cover it. You might have two CPT codes that mean the exact same but only one is covered by Fep BCBS. No it is not insurance fraud just truth. I have worked in hospitals and clinics for awhile.

You could look online but honestly .... its confussing to find the right revision CPT code name. So best bet is to call surgeons office.

I talked to Jessica at the doc's office and she said BCBS Federal does cover it and she gave me the cpt code 43659.  I  have the website for the medical policy for BCBS of Oklahoma.  It did not have the cpt code that she gave me.  But like you said, it might be two cpt codes. 

Just wanted to see if anyone else has the same insurance as me.

I do have the same insurance as you but... I just don't know much about revision stuff
