Nsaid
Would it really hurt to take 2 advil or motrin. Haven't taken any since surgery 6 months ago since we are told to avoid them, but since we have a fully functioning stomach and our pyrlorus in intact, I don't see how 2 can hurt. I know they say we have a higher risk of ulcers but 2.. Any advice would be appreciated.
Just to add to Janine's comment: ('cause she's right)
Maybe your surgeon said not to right after surgery?
The "no nsaids, ever" thing is a good rule for RNYers, because part of their stomach can't be scoped. So, ulcers can form in that tissue that lives beyond the suture line.
Constant nsaid use is to be avoided, in anyone. But, if they cause ulcers in us (DSers), at least they can be found without opening us up.

Your surgeon's practice doesn't give anything except RNY advice. That's why connection to the PADS group is so vital for you folks.
My surgeon said to limit NSAIDS, but even more so to limit Tylenol, just as a matter of course. His recommendation was to use liquigels for stuff like Advil, and only to use them when needed, not as a habitual thing.
