What to eat in an emergency?

When I picked my son up from camp we surprised him with a McDonalds breakfast. I had a bacon (their bacon is nice and soft and thin, I'm only four weeks so no crispy bacon just yet) egg and cheese minus the biscuit not only did they have fun with my order (biscuit minus the biscuit) but they threw in extra bacon. I even took a few bites of the hashbrown my wife got.

I know Chick-Fil-A has chicken on their breakfast menu! Oh and like I saw someone else say, their chicken salad is to die for!

Hey Surgery siter, I was just wondering by chance how much of that biscuit minus the biscuit were you able to eat? As you know I am 4 weeks out today as well but I am so scared of ordering out. I still throw up but not as much as I was and I am getting the grasp of smaller meals more frequently.

I threw up once and that was enough for me.  I'm sorry to hear you're still having problems with it.  has your doctor given you anything for it or is it from eating too fast?  Smells and textures make me sick so I've been taking Zofran which is a life saver!

Dina McBride has an awesome blog and explains how we should be eating (http://livingthedslife.wordpress.com/)  and so I've learned to take a bite and busy myself take another bite and busy myself again and really learned to listen to how my belly felt before taking any more bites.   I always try to have something other to do while I'm eating, even if it's just a book. She also talks about how we should be taking a few bites every hour or so and it helps so much! I haven't been feeling sick and my belly has been feeling awesome!

As far as how much I was able to eat, only a few bites.  I finished the bacon (they were really small pieces) but I'm having a hard time with the way cheese smells (makes me sick and I'm really sad about it) so after two bites of eggs I really had to close the lid and toss it but thanks to the bacon and the few bites I did have I was full :)

I threw up a few times before I finally slowed down on eating...I still occasionally eat too much too fast and feel sick for a couple mintues...I don't have to eat that slow but I find it better to eat while distracted like chatting at dinner or doing homework so I don't eat too fast lol

I just drove to and from South Dakota (I live in Chicago) and I stopped at McDonalds and a bunch of sit-down roadhouses, etc. along the way. I happily ate what was on the menu.

I ate a Big Mac (minus the top bun--too carby), chicken nuggets, mozzarella cheese sticks, baked potatoes with tons of cheese and bacon, you name it, as long as protein was featured prominently.

Easy-peasy. No worries.

Early out the fast food places were great for me.  Still hit them quite often.  A box of popcorn chicken with sauce, was 3 little meals for me.  Long John Silver's halibut filet was 2-3 meals too.

Now, Jack in the Box has a really big chicken sandwich - double chicken, double cheese and a slice of bacon.  I throw the buns away and munch.  2 crunchy tacos at taco bell, takes the edge off and corn works better than the flour.  You can always ask for extra mayo or protein style and not have to deal with the bun.

I always have protein bars, jerky, nuts to munch on.
