Pomp Patients: who orders the labs? pomp or the nut?

HIPAA is federal law and provides that everyone has the legal right to obtain copies of any and all medical records.

That being said, Quest cannot release records directly to patients in every state - the list of states is on the Quest website, but in some states they can - you have to fill out a release.  Otherwise,  they release them to the ordering physicians and the physician's office MUST, BY LAW send you a copy of you want one - you have to fill out a release.

Dr. Kemmeter gave me my lab slip during my six week appointment and told me to go get them done about two weeks before my three month appointment.

Just a comment, a nutritionist does not have the legal right or license to order labs.

Kim Wu usually faxes me the lab sheets a few weeks before my appointment.  Their office is awesome like that.

Can't you just hand a list to your pcp and have her order the labs you want?

Seems like too many middle men involved and too much room for aggravation.
