Need some breakfast ideas
I usually make an iced decaf coffee protein shake. I use a scoop or 2 on instant decaf coffee, 2 scoops chocolate protein power, a couple packets of splenda & a splash of sugar free carmel syrup & 16 oz water. I put it all in a shaker cup with some ice and shake it up while I drive to work. Here's a link to a post with a similar recipe where I got this idea from . www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ds/4280141/Step-by-step-direction s-on-how-to-make-the-best-protein/
Here's another link that gives a ton of protein shake recipes to make them taste better.

There's also some low carb quiche recipies I found here that I bookmarked. I haven't tried them yet, but you could make these at night & then just warm up a piece in the morning.

Im in the same boat you are, Barb. On my 3rd month of a 6-month physician supervised weight loss deal.
Hard boiled eggs are a good standby because you can have a bunch of them in the fridge all ready to grab. I also will either cut up some cheese cubes or do some of those little Laughing Cow cheese thingies. Protein shakes are also something Ive actually grown to like. I havent tried the protein coffee recipe yet, but plan on doing it eventually. Ill change things up flavorwise by either adding some SF pudding or SF coffee syrups.
Speaking of SF pudding, I have been getting plain greek yogurt and then adding some SF pudding to it. I dont do the fruit ones either because of the carbs. Ive discovered it isnt nearly as horrible as I originally thought it would be when I first tried it.

I usually have eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, fried bologna, etc. Most of that you can actually cook ahead of time and reheat.....well, the bacon, sausage and ham.....and the eggs if they're boiled.
I also eat leftover dinner for breakfast a lot.
Jimmy dean also has breakfast bowls you can throw in the microwave. The only carby thing in them is some potatoes. When I was watching my carbs more, I'd just eat around the potatoes. Oh, and I always added extra shredded cheese to the bowl for more protein.

Thank you for all the replies. I will have to try the different protein shake recipes. It seems everyone on here drinks them with coffee, but I despise coffee. And reheating pre-cooked things seems very reasonable for a busy morning.
I usually grab a Muscle Milk Light first thing in the morning. A couple hours later I have some string cheese or a boiled egg. Two or three hours after that I might have a pickle wrap (made from either ham or corned beef w/cream cheese and some dill pickle slices), and a handful of sunflower seeds a couple hours later. I don't really eat meals and nothing designated as specific breakfast foods at any specific time anymore. A couple of days ago I had a cake-shake in the morning and a fried egg at 6pm

I eat high protein breakfasts but usually they are not "breakfast foods" - I eat burgers and chicken and fish and shrimp...whatever I feel like. A lot of the time I eat leftovers from dinners for breakfast. I also eat cottage cheese, sometimes cottage cheese pancakes with egg....I love Greek yogurt but I never have it sweet - I put garlic and cucumber and scallion in it, sometime a sprinkle of cumin.
I also make deviled eggs for breakfast and you can get creative with the fillings...
Today I had a piece of chicken breast with greek yogurt as described above, with half a pita. Sort of like a souvlaki.
Yesterday morning I had leftover lamb stew that I had made the night before.

I am almost six months post op, and my love of breakfast foods still hasn't returned, so breakfast was the hardest meal of the day for me. Now I eat mostly leftovers, or lowcarb tortillia quesadillas( low car tortillia, ton of cheese, leftover meat, and salsa) are my fav. for breakfast. Some days I will just have stringcheese and protein shake or protein coffee for breakfast. Lol, this morning I had crab salad for breakfast. Like you I hate to cook in the mornings. You will see what ever you feel like eating is what will sound good for breakfast. Have you tried plain greek yogurt with sweetnlow or splenda, and a teaspoon of sf preserves?
