VERY Nervous
Well, I had my last psych visit today and he has already sent over my info. According to Lynn in Dr. E's office, they are just waiting on the notes from my NUT visit this past Monday, and my PCP visit yesterday. As soon as they get those, they will submit to insurance as I'm trying to get an early September date.
NOW....I'm really nervous. This is becoming very real!
Although I have been haunting the boards, any advice, best practices, encouragement that you might have will be greatly appreciated.
Oh...the psych had a really good suggestion today for making sure EMT's have your correct medical history if they ever have to visit you at home. He said to take a prescription bottle, write in big letters "_____'s MEDICAL HISTORY" and put it in the fridge. He said that EMT's always check there to see if you have any presciptions. I plan to get the medical stick drive, but I'm doing this also. I want to make sure that medical personnel have every chance to find my history so they treat me accordingly. Sorry for the rambling thoughts, as I stated before....I'm SCARED!

You're going to do great! Since you're in WI, maybe you can take a road trip down to chicago to join me and Nicolle and a few other DS'ers for Dr Rabkin's support group Monday, the 15th. I believe Dr Rabkin will be in town. He is just AWESOME at putting people at ease-even if he's not your surgeon!
Congrats! And I love the fridge advice. I'll have to make sure to do that!
Best of luck
Anna

I LOVE your fridge advice. My husband is an EMT/Firefighter and they do look in the fridge if there is no family there. But I would have never thought to do this.
I totally get the nerves thing!!! I am up tonight, scared to death, and yet certain this is the right thing to do. My DS is in less than 12 hours. OY!!!
I have been praying almost non stop for the past couple of weeks, asking God to guide me and to help me make the right decision. I have felt really peaceful about it (for the most part, until my freaking nerves kick in!!!) and so I keep moving forward.
And...what good advice about the medications. I had no idea that the EMT's would check my fridge. Perhaps I should clean it out when I get home.....just in case
