intro to the forum

hi everyone. I'm no longer lurking. I just want to introduce myself to you all because though I feel I already know many of you from your previous posts, you haven't met me.  This board has been such a wonderful tool for me on this journey.  And the food porn!!!! oh yummy.  Thanks for all of you who pay it forward. I had my surgery on 12/28/11 and am down quite a bit.  I'm dedicated to following the DS diet and vitamin schedule.  I almost had a roux en y but thanks to this board and a friend who lives near me I chose the DS.  I'm a mom and a nurse in Tennessee and  I hope to continue to absorb the terrific advice I find here daily. Again I thank you all.

Please tell us where you had your surgery and all details you have.  Since you have been reading you know we love that kind of stuff.

My surgeon is Dr. Stewart in Denton, TX.  I have an 85 cc and had a 32 bougie.   How much weight have you lost?  Do you follow your doctors vitamin schedule or vitalady's? 

Have you had your six months labwork done yet?  That will tell you for sure if what you are taking is enough.  We truly care for our newbies, so please make sure you get these checked so you don't get deficient.

Congrats, but is that a typo ? Was your surgery 12/28/10 ? since it is not yet 12/2011 ?

lol yep my first call out on a typo!!! 12/28/10.  I just had my 6 month labs drawn and all are within normal limits except my darn vit D. although it was low prior to surg.  I just had the lovely vit D injection at Boyce's office and to add salt to the wound one of my 5 year olds ran out into the waiting area to inform everyone there that mommy had a needle in her butt and it was huge!! I like to think he was refering to the needle but alas, even after 145 pounds gone, my butt is still pretty ample!!!!

Out of the mouth of babes ! You love 'em, but sometimes you want to just die of embarassment too ! Hopefully he was referring to the needle ! 

You are taking the dry Vit D3 ? right ? Please say yes. I have just to increase mine to 150,000 IU's a day.

 Welcome! I lurked for quite awhile too. It is nice to get involved here. I feel like the old timers have helped me SO much!! Hopefully we will be able to advise newbies someday. ;)
