Ok stop now.

I am skinny.  No I'm not bragging I'm worried. I plateaued for about 4-5 months at 163 ish lbs then dropped steadily to 158lbs.  I was OK with that because it corresponded with my weights training and I thought lean muscle would play catch up.  Today I'm 154lbs, that's a 2.2lbs weight loss in 48hrs!!! I have been doing NOTHING for the last week.....no training just walking the dogs. I'm also eating extra carbs and plenty of protein to play catch up.

I don't want to get any skinner. One of the surgeons at my work sidled up to me and asked "when is your weight going to stabilise"?  I was shocked that he'd been noticing my weight loss but it is obvious now I'm going too far.  So to those of you that got too skinny how long before your weight came back up to a happy level?  I'm 18months out thus far.

Help!

Give it time. You're still in that 18-24 month window. It should start tapering off. Also, your skin hasn't finished bouncing back, yet, either. A lot of people can look a little gaunt for awhile until their skin snaps back a bit to fit their new frame.

Until you reach an underweight BMI, I wouldn't worry about it. And careful with those carbs. They've come back and bit some people in the arse when they tried using them to stop the loss. You don't want to swing your trajectory in the opposite direction.

Hi Babe!

I don't really WANT to eat the carbs I'm eating but I'm so worried that I'll end up dropping lbs every day.  I'm hoping I'll stabilise soon.

Your body will stop losing when it's good and ready. Please don't panic or listen to other people who don't understand the process. No worries. Go a little lower than you're comfortable with now and your bounce back will bring you back up to where you're happy. If a silly lightweight like me can do it, you can.

((hugs))

I hope so too Gina, I was just take aback by the lack of control I have over this part of the process.  It is all well and good when you've got weight to lose but when you are where you want to be it scares the crap out of me.  I should have more trust in this surgery and my bodies ability to deal with it.  I'm just trying to gain muscle and feel like running about squealing like a stuck pig at the thought I may be losing what I'm putting on.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal!

I've seen your recent pics and I think you look AWESOME! I have no advice but you don't look "too skinny" or "sickly". You look like you've been thin all your life! HUGS

Just think about it! You get to wear those sexy clothes now. MAYBE they'll get a little big. THEN when you have your bounce back, wallah, you're back in the sexy clothes again. Win win!! That's my thinking anywho!

Too Skinny?! I too think you look FAB! I am sure your body is adjusting. Now your mind needs to catch up! I am almost 3 months out, so I am not speaking from experience, but I do want to encourage you.  Take a deep breath, and remember when you would have LOVED to have the 'problem' of being too skinny.
Hugs,
