I think we need more vitamin K based on my limited understanding from reading those articles.  And we DSers NEED to have our Osteocalcin, Protein S, and or Protein C factors measured in order to test our vitamin K levels.  These tests are being done in the studies.  Could this be a result of protein S deficiency?  Protein S and protein C are Vitamin K dependent proteins. Just food for thought.  I am not a doctor.

OMGosh JJ, I'm so sorry you have and still are going through this. If you wouldn't have acted promptly, you might not be here now to inform all of us of what's going on!

Will keep you in my thoughts (and prayers) for a speedy recovery and a promp diagnosis on the reason behind all of this.

I would try and talk to your dr and get the ivc filter,, if he thinks it is only a temp thing,

there is both temporary Optease IVC  filters .....and perm ones that stay in for life

Especially if you are pron to DVT It would make me sleep better at night !! LOL

You are  lucky you did not throw a big lung emboli !!
