Evening all. Sitting at the hotel in GA trying tovfigure out my talking points for tomorrow....unfortunately have to close an office and let 6 people go. I hate this part of the job...it sucks!!! Plus, I'm stressed so all I want to do is eat...but didn't pack much.

B- fried egg, 4 sausage links
L- Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese breakfast bowl with taters picked out
S - Atkins chocolate and coconut bar
D - side ceasar salad, steak tips dipped in ceasar dressing
S - 1/2 c sunflower seeds

Fluids. - only 50 ozs....don't drink much when I fly
Vites - all in but left my organizer home for the next 4 days...crap...what the he'll do I do??

Can you get to a drug store?  You can get Centrum, Calcium Citrate, Magnesium, Potassium, Various B vites like sublinqual b12...

The things you probably can't get are the fat soluble DRY vites you need:  ADE and K.  Can you have someone overnight your vites to you?

Thanks Becky. Yes, I have a rental car so I have a pharmacy I will get to for the multi, calcium, b12 and iron.

I travel to so many different offices I never know where I will be at to have the, overnight, but it was a good suggestion.

Thanks for replying....I'm just going to have to suck it up and just buy the smaller quantities...stupid me.

Learning to pack to be on the road with the DS has been a challenge for me at times.  Some things I've learned:

Get a motel with a fridge and microwave.
When packing pill boxes use Saran/plastic wrap to wrap them up.  I've had them open in transit and spill vites all over my suitcase.
I put my cake shake powders (splenda, protein powder, dark cocoa) in individual baggies and packed a small bottle of cooking oil and a cup to nuke it in.  That really helped on my last trip.
When you get to your destination shop for little cheese bites, small Greek yogurts, and other high protein snacks that you can keep in your motel fridge.  This helps keep me out of vending machines.
Always take more days than you think you will need for vites and protein.
RDT protein is good for on the road as are high protein low carb bars.
Pack your middle of the day doses in something you can carry easily in your purse.  I use snack sized baggies.  I also use a kitchen timer or you could set an alarm on your phone because when I get busy I forget to take my vites during the day.  I take 4 doses between breakfast and bedtime so I have to stay on top of them.

Hope adding more Calcium Citrate to your diet helps you out bunches.  I think the only iron you can get at a drug store that you should use is the Proferrin but I' not sure.

Thanks for the ideas, Becky. I'll be traveling to St. Louis with a group of girlfriends in September, and I'm already starting to worry....and plan.

Traveling was a bigger challenge for me when I was in the eat every 2 hours or DIE mode which hopefully is a thing of the past.  I hope these tips are helpful.  I bet if you started a thread people would chime in and more folks would see the tips.  It has been a long time since I've seen a thread about tips for traveling.

I haven't flown post-DS and would love some tips for that.  Not that I have a trip planned, but one can dream.

Have FUN with the girls in September.
