DS Heaven, done a little differently....

Tonight it's a ginormous brown trout fresh from the river half a mile or so away, not caught or cleaned by me (I hate to fish; BIL's good friend is all happy to have someone around who loves trout though). This is about a 2-1/2 pounder. I left him whole, stuffed him to the gills with fresh cilantro and basil, basted with olive oil and grilled to succulent magnificence. A bit of lemon juice and sea salt completed the yumminess.

MMMMM I love my DS.

OMG!!! I love fresh trout!!  My dad was an excellent fly fisherman and caught the most beautiful rainbow trout in the streams of WY.  Cooked on an open campfire, is the absolute best!!!
Thank you Elizabeth, for bringing back some lovely memories! I miss my Daddy!

Brown trout isn't quite as delectable as rainbow, but I'm sure not complaining :-).

We grew up with summer meals of little brookies, rarely over ten inches long. Mom would bread them with cornmeal and fry them in bacon grease. YUM.

Sounds YUMMY but you can't forget the butter.  I would of made lemon butter to bathe him in. :)

Butter is sometimes overkill for me on trout, since it's a rather fatty fish. He got basted in olive oil for the grill though.
