I think I would question this also. First of all emailing the doctor you have to pay? I can't tell you how many times I talked to my doctor personally after my surgery. He gives you his cell phone and you can call him anytime.
I've been to support groups and never have had to pay. I've even gone to support groups that my doctor wasn't affiliated with. I didn't know you pay for support groups.
My insurance covered follow up appts and "any medical problems after surgery" what does that mean? There can be many medical problems and if you get put back in the hospital and need additonal surgery or whatever he isn't going to bill your insurance because this 3k will cover after care (I don't know about this one). I think you have every right to question. This is a high amount to me.
