I am trying to think what gave me bad gas all day yesterday and all night, i cant pinpoint the culprit besides thinking it is stevia.

I didnt tolerate splenda that well before surgery and i tried it only once after and i can have a little bit with it but i can not drink all day splenda containing drinks. Sweetner in crystal light, aspartene(sp?) i dont tolerate either.

What else is there?

Stevia is a very fine very potent sweetener.  If you have it in a measurable form (as in, you can put a tablespoon or teaspoon of it into something), then it has been put into some sort of stabilizer/thickener, and I'd suspect that the stabilizer/thickener is what is bothering you.

In Truvia, they use erythritol.  Stevia in the raw uses dextrose or maltodextrin.

Maltodextrin in high amounts bothers me.

It is for this very reason that I use an extract instead of a powder for a sweetener.  MUCH less likely to cause GI upset, as the measuring amounts are only 1/8-1/16 of a tsp.  I made a blog post about it on my profile about NuNaturals white stevia extract, which is my favorite one, if you're interested.
