Labs- Cacium and Iron help, Please.
I don't know that I'd consider 69 worth maintenance, personally. I would personally want at least over 100. Vitalady recommends over 200. I'd be happy over 100 and so would my hematologist. I was trying to see what just 2 proferrins was doing but...
All of this went to hell when I developed a bleed after plastics, lost a liter of blood through my drains, got reopened and subsequently needed a blood transfusion and 4 units of blood. I'm at the bottom of the barrel again now, and this time, I'm just going to go for an infusion.
But such is life :)

Ann,
I'm somewhat intimidated to add this when the "big guns" did not, but my understanding is that your Calcium to Magnesium supplementation should ideally be a 2 to 1 ratio. Yours is 5 to 1. Up that Mag to one with each of your Calcium doses, and if you add in some Mag Oxide, it will also help counteract the constipation effect.

I was taking a lot of Mg Oxide with no discernable affect. I think I will start taking my proferrin by itself in the evening. And then I'll add the Mg Citrate to each of my day time doses. I also added an additional protein shake and started using half and half instead of milk to get more fat.
Thanks everyone for your input.
