The JD recipe sounds wonderful and I'm going to try this as a base for a trial run on lowcarb rib sauce.

Regarding a substitute for JD - Here in Canada (and probably the states too)... There is Southern Comfort marinade sauce and CC Rye (Canadian Club Rye) sauce for ribs, chicken etc.  Both "official" brand names.  So using Rye, or SC might be worth a trial run.


Pick your surgery first, then your surgeon. Not the other way around.  
PS:... Potato chips should be a food group.
