SO OT _ Going to see a medium on Friday

Don't give them more info then you need to.  My mom reads tarot and it needs to just flow organically.  Try to see the things that are really specific and not just broad statements that would fit anyone and any situation.  Just have fun. :)

I think the advice you have gotten sounds good.  Go with an open mind.  Don't talk too much.  Clear your mind before hand. Record it if possible.

I would love to go to a Medium so I am looking forward to hearing your results.

Thanks Guys, I am going to a medium who lives in the spiritualist community at Cassadaga here in Florida. A relative of mine is a medium and she refuses to have any family members for readings, she says it is too close and emotional pathways get tangled up with her (she says its a bit like a cross line on the phone when dealing with someone close to her). Anyway, she recommends meditating, clearing your mind and carrying something of the person you wish to make contact with. In my case I will wear my husbands wedding ring on my chain (i no longer wear a wedding ring myself). I am trying not to get my hopes up and keep a clear head about it all and any insight from the medium will be a wonderful thing.....I am also aware that this could really upset me and raise old issues....but I guess its a bit like the lancing of a boil...the **** has got to come out sometime (excuse the colorful language!! lol)

anyway, i'll let you all know Friday evening how I got on...thanks for all the comments

I have friends who have had positive experiences with mediums and I never met anyone who had a bad experience. 

I've heard that you get more out of it if you think a lot about your questions before the reading.

I would just relax and keep your mind clear, if you can record it that would be great. I have gone a few times ...no one that claimed to be a 'medium' though...one just did psychic readings after you ate dinner in the restaurant and the other was an elderly woman that read playing cards out of her house..she did not claim to be psychic she 'just read cards'.

I was in my early 20's and spent the whole session waiting to hear what I wanted to hear about specific people instead of listening to what what was said....the card reader was spot on about my husband's description 4 years before I met him..although she said he would be good for me...I have to disagree...during that session I also asked if I would ever reagain the 160 pounds that I had just lost and she said 'no' ...she was wrong about that too.

In all honesty if I could just relax and listen to what's in my own head ...I get better information....i.e she gave a description...I got my husband's first and last  name 2 years before I met him. My deceased dad and my maternal grandparents came to me in a dream and told me that my mother had moved a physically abusive ex boyfriend into her house after moving cross country and was keeping it secret. That turned out to be true. My mother was more upset that her dead mother decided to talk to me instead of her. Abusive ex-boyfriend got creeped out by the ghosties and moved back home with his mom....lol.

Hey ... is it a one on one?  or a group session??  I have been to one and I loved it and would do it again.,, make sure ur able to record it... so that you can reflect on the session....

HI, It's a one on one session with the medium...I'll let ya know how it goes. I'm off to buy one of those little recorders today so I can play it back to myself and my partner when he gets home.

Have done this a couple times.  Either get permission to record the session or ask someone to go along and take detailed notes.  You'll never remember everything that's said and those seemingly minor things that are forgotten may have significance to you later.
