Thank you for the update.  I honestly had forgotten reading about the revision procedure she was debating doing, though I do remember now.  Please also send my well wishes to her.  I hope that she gets the leave she needs!  Was she active on the GA board, by chance (sorry if someone else asked this!) ?

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

My goodness.  Please tell her that no matter what -- no matter what has happened -- she can't look back on this and think she made the wrong decision.  No doubt that it feels that way.  But I recall her posts in the beginning and believe she was in the same place so many of us are when we finally get to surgery  -- desperate enough to try anything because the pain (mental, emotional, physical) just can't go on.  I know she did this to be healthier for her kids, and really, she must just feel like this has exploded in her face.  How devastating.  LaShelle, I'm going to PM you -- I don't qualify to donate vacation time, but I'm happy to contribute otherwise.

So sorry to hear she is having to go through this. I got a stricture 2 mths out and had to go through two endoscopies to stretch it back out too. I couldn't eat/drink for a month while a picc line fed me. It was the worst month of my life! I can't even imagine going through extra surgeries and not being able to eat/drink for 5 months afterwards, or maybe longer.  I pray that they can get this issue resolved for her!
