Julie,
I wondered about calcium as you can see above my calcium labs are up in total calcium, but also the PTH went up.. which is NOT good. I will be adding more calcium starting today !

I've had foot cramps for about a year. My potassium and magnesium are with in range. What I've found that helped me most was hydration. I was very surprised to learn that my foot and leg cramps where due to not staying as hydrated as I should.
You might give that a go.

Hi Allie,
Actually when a walk, once the cramps let up enough to walk, I can sort of walk them off, although sometimes it takes a few minutes. There are times I can't walk when I cramp really bad. It is so strange as I have never had them this bad in the past. I do take a Dry E by Jarrow which is 400 mg a day as well.
I think it is worse in the left leg, which is the leg I had knee replacement this past year. I suppose I should get to the PCP next week and see what she thinks as well.

There's some kind of test they do to see how well your legs are getting blood/circulation etc. Might be worth discussing with your doc. I know that by upping my reg E from 400 to 1200 per day... my leg symptoms/feet feeling cramped up or bottoms of my feet falling asleep (when walking) completely went away. (I'm leg/bottom heavy). E sort of works like ASA in keeping the blood from getting too thick from what I've been told.
Make sure you don't have any lumbar/S1 issues as that too can cause leg, calve & foot cramps. My labs are great and I found mine is caused to neuropathy after those fun nerve tests. ************* At least it's good to know what is causing it...I'm on Lyrica and it definitely helps with the popcorn popping in my calves and the God awful vice-like cramping in my ankles and feet. Hope you get relief soon!
