That takes some serious restraint not to slap that woman. Wow, way to go straigh to her face and say exactly what you needed to say to her. That is purely an amazing moment! CHEERS TO YOU! BTW, I've heard you can also use bleach and that won't kill the grass (just put it in a spray bottle). Likewise I have also heard slinging a bunch of boxes of tooth picks in somebody's yard sucks too because you can't hardly pick them all up or walk through your yard barefoot. Of course, I have never given nor received either of these so don't take my word for it.
However, these are both passive aggressive approaches as opposed to calmly and politely saying what you have to say in public with witnesses so she can't twist the facts. Of the two I much prefer your approach.
And with a reputation like hers I wouldn't lose any sleep over what she has to say about you or your husband. Those who know her (and you) know its crap and those that don't will find out soon enough.

OMG Ann, the toothpick one is a great idea! I'd also thought of putting up advertisements on all of the grocery store bulletin boards for purebred pitbulls for sale for really cheap, like $25, and putting her phone number on there, and to call only after 9 pm. Pitbulls are big with certain folks in my town, and she'd be SWAMPED with phone calls, LOL. It'd be even more fun to put both her home and cell number on there.....that'd REALLY stump her. I'd also heard a great way to get legal revenge is to have massive amounts of junk mail - sex toy catalogs, personal health catalogs, anything that'd be kind of embarrassing to get at home or work - sent to that persons work or business. I am too wimpy to do anything like that - too afraid to get caught - but it's actually been very therapeutic to work these ideas out in my brain, LOL.
