Here's how "backwoods" it is in Montana....

I arrived safe and sound but several hours later than originally planned. Computer FUBARed my travel info and the airline had to redo it for other, later flights. All went smoothly, and I cheerfully sat in a center seat with room to spare :-D.

Those of you who live near Missouri River-connected flooding, there's a lot more water coming, cuz there's a TON of snow left up in the mountains. (Missouri headwaters are near here.) It's finally warmed up to summer temps and the melt is ON. Lots of flooding going on here, but it's somewhat better than it was.

Okay, to the actual post: I had my appointment with the doc here today. Saw a nurse practitioner, actually, as it's a group practice. She LISTENED and asked LOTS of questions about the DS and responded in a manner that indicated she understood what I was telling her YAY!

I was concerned that I might have to talk her into the iron infusion and D injection, since I'm not "that bad off." Nope, she hopped right on the bandwagon, agreeing that preventing worse trouble is the intelligent thing to do.

She'll arrange everything and then let me know when to show up. They'll do two iron infusions. D injection is something they need to consult the staff nephrologist about, since he's the only one who has any experience with it. So that's going to take a little longer to work out, along with ordering the stuff and what all.

YIPPIE for a good doc experience!!! And all of that out here in the middle of nowhere :-D.

Sounds great, EN! Wish all Doctors worked that way. Life would be sooooo much easier! Keep us updated and be safe while away!

Let me know how the D injection works out for you EN.    What is your D/Pth currently?     I'm so glad you found capable, understanding medical assistance.

I was jus****ching the tail end of news in regard to the flooding in ND, and I wondered aloud to DH what we might see on the train trip out there.

I really wished that our schedules meshed enough to meet up out there, but I'll be traveling that way again!

D is about 20 and PTH pushing 80. The best I've ever gotten on D is 45 and PTH similar. Now it's fallen off again, and my hips/thighs are killing me, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this option works.

Ahhh - yeah you sure could use one.    I hope it works.    My D was, last I checked, 31 and PTH 157.  Nothing hurts on me though.  Endo was surprised that it doesn't.    He kept pressing on my hips and such saying, "Are you sure this doesn't hurt?

Only my knees hurt, and when it's just when I do stupid things like crawl around on my knees on cement porches painting porch chairs.

Sorry for being Captain Oblivious, but I either forgot this or missed it somewhere along the way -
Does low D cause/exacerbate joint pain? Just in the hip/thigh area or all over or... ?

Yeah, it seems to be rather common for low D/high PTH to have sore big bones and big joints as a symptom. It can probably be felt in other areas too, but that's where I have it the worst and where I've seen other people reporting a change after improving those levels.

That could explain a lot. A huge lot. Thanks hon!
