*like*

This is pretty much a case of the OP flagging her filthy underwear in the wind, and then crying "foul" when passers by tell her it that they ******g stink.

She's just pissed no one told her what she wanted to hear.

As for this: "I hope you all burn in hell." - I think many of us would have similarly uncharitable thoughts about a selfish, immature DSer who would would deliberately, through carelessness and willfulness, bring into this world a damaged baby doomed to a life of "less than" due to the irresponsible behavior of its mother.

You've disclosed more than enough info to the general public for the community do discern that you shouldn't breed because you can't even take care of yourself properly. Considering you've brought this all on yourself, don't start playing the victim now. We don't buy bs like that. Why mention your pregnancy at all and then cry about not wanting any attention on the matter? ***** please....

Wow, you people have a lot of ******g nerve. Don't presume that you know me or anything about me. The posts you are commenting about I wrote over a year and a half ago. It's amazing how life changes. I said I was bad at taking cuts, not that I don't take them at all. I have health care and all of my counts have been fine for over a year. I have an apt with an ob, but was asking for rips until I can get in to see someone. Telling me to take the usual regiment doesn't do much as my surgeon has me on a different regiment than any of you, or any ds'er I have seen. The advice I was looking for was more along the lines of, my cousin told me I couldn't take prilosec anymore and I take 2 a day, I can't breath without it (or it feels that way) is there something else or is it still ok with us? But somehow that turned into I should have an abortion cus I'm scared and asking for help? So, ya know what I have to say to all you who do nothing but sit on this bourd and talk **** **** you. You have alot of ******g nerve to presume that you know my situation well enough to make that kind of judgement. So **** you fellow ds'ers. I won't be coming back to this sight anymore. I'm pro abortion, but right now, I hope you all burn in hell.
Nothing like being enveloped in a "burn in hell" and "fuck you fellow DS'ers"  tirade when you haven't responded to a post. Sweet.

This isn't for the OP, but rather for anyone who's reading this and is interested in getting pregnant post-DS. I'm with Nic in that I don't see a high risk OB - no need to. I've had zero complications with this pregnancy and I'm almost 28 weeks along. I saw my surgeon when I found out I was pregnant, had initial labs drawn, and then another set midway to check on things. Yes, there are some items I need to tweak but overall nothing is too terribly low. So keep on top of your vites, get good prenatal care (again, doesn't have to be high risk), and see your surgeon when you find out you're pregnant.

Jade,

I love you but I think that is woefully inadequate advice.  Our surgeon doesn't supplement us appropriately when we AREN'T pregnant so how the hell is he going to supplement a pregnancy appropriately?  And he is one of the BETTER ones at giving supplement/vitamin advice.

I would never advise anyone to take supplementation advice for a DS pregnancy from a surgeon.  EVER.

I didn't say that I took my advise from Dr. Smith, though I can see I wasn't clear on that point.  I posted my labs here, as usual (and what ever post-op should do IMO as the people on this board are way more invested in helping nutrition-related issues), to get feedback.

A high risk OB isn't geared towards nutritional deficincies, either, which is the point of my post.  Just because you have the DS doesn't make you high risk.

Just like everything else nutrition-related with this surgery, you have to be your own advocate and seek your own supplementation.  I know you do your own lab slips, but I still go through Dr. Smith to get mine done and have that analysis portion, albeit lacking, as I appreciate any input I can get.

I personally follow a hybrid of vita lady's routine and have been relatively happy with my results (minus the vite d****il this last set of labs.  I blame vampire baby for those.  LOL

My high risk OB was totally geared toward nutritional deficiencies...totally on top of my levels and labs and understood all the issues very very well.  The practice has had many WLS patients.  Don't make a generalization like "a high risk OB isn't geared toward..."  That's just not so.

I haven't seen my DS surgeon in 10 years,  and I'm over 11 years post-op.  A DS surgeon has zero to contribute to my needs, pregnant or not pregnant.  I have a good internist,  hematologist,  endocrinologist.  And I had good high risk OB.  I consulted with a surgeon during my pregnancy ONLY because of issues with adhesions and hernias from previous surgeries, at my OB's suggestion.

But I agree completely that the DS does not automatically make somebody a high risk pregnancy.  It depends on the individual and her issues.  I saw a high risk OB because of age and previous abdominal surgical issues, but NOT because of the DS.

But some DSers would definitely benefit from a high risk OB to manage various issues.  It depends on the individual and her cir****tances and health.

Just a comment regarding high risk obstetrical care. I am a certified nurse midwife and have been in practice 26+ years.. I would immediately refer a pregnant patient who has a DS to a maternal fetal medicine specialist. The ultimate goal is a healthy mom and healthy infant.
