I've used a variety of bowls.  Soup bowls, a huge coffee mug shaped bowl, etc...  Something with sides will work.  You wouldn't want to use a cereal type bowl that has no sides I wouldn't think.  The batter rises a lot when it cooks.

I just tried it and mine was okay. I think that I will try it again tomorrow with peanut butter to see if I can make it better. I appreciate the recipe though as I am always looking for new ways to get more protein in Thanks for this Kayla and Beemer !

Amanda,

If it was just "okay" you need to experiement more.  My first attempts weren't so great.  I added oil then switched to butter and make sure I make the batter very thin.  A more molten cake is better but a dry cake works if you top it with something moist.

Becky,
Never thought to try butter instead of oil. Do you melt it first?....duh, stupid question, I know.

haha I asked the same question!  I do melt it but don't make the mistake I did of pouring protein powder directly in hot butter.  CLUMP.

I used 3 T of butter but that seems too much for my system so will back down to 2 and increase the water today.

I used a short dinner glass and it worked well.. however. I did not have any vanilla, only Almond extract so I used that.. it was ok...

Katie,

If it was just "OK" then experiement.  More fluids, more butter, less time cooking, different bowls etc...

Cause this stuff is WAY more than "ok".  lol.

So extremely grateful to have another protein idea!!!!!! Question on the ingredients. Cocoa Powder. If I don't have cocoa powder can I substitute with like SF choc syrup? I may have some hot chocolate mix, would that work? Cant wait to try this tomorrow!

I'm the most non-cook/baker of the bunch so you are asking the wrong person!! lol.  I really have no idea if the cocoa is a must use ingredient.  Let us know if you try it.

I used chocolate/peanutbutter protien powder today which was not as good as just chocolate.  But now I have a tub to use up.
