Insurance Approval in 5 days in Indiana!
What a busy day! my right knee has been giving me fits for a while so last week I had a MRI. Today was the Dr visit to find out what my problem is. It turns out that I have a torn meniscus and the Dr also says that I have "significant arthritis" in that knee. He recommended surgery. So I go out to the receptionist and she asks when I want to see a surgeon and who I want. I tell her soon and give her the name of one that has been recommended to me by several people. She calls and they say that they just got a cancelation, come on over. So I visit the surgeon, he explains everything giving me options. We decide on surgery sooner rather than later. He tells me he has a opening next Wednesday but that I will need to visit my PCP for clearance. So again I go out and the nurse calls my PCP.....guess what, he had a cancelation and says to come on over! WOW, 3 Dr visits in just a few hours and I am all set for knee surgery............
When I get home there is a message on my machine to call my WLS office. I call and they tell me that I have been approved for DS in just 5 days after turning me in for approval! I am not scheduled in yet and will get that call soon but from talking to others at my support group it will take 6 weeks or so to get in for my DS surgery. That is OK with me, it will give time for my knee to heal up + we have a vacation scheduled for the last week in July. Keep the bench warm, I am on my way!

Best of luck with BOTH surgeries!!

It sounds like everything is lining up for a very active summer of positive change and healing! You definitely had a guardian angel looking over your shoulder the miraculous day of doctor appointments! I'm very happy for you!!
I empathize with the knee injury. My right knee has suffered a significant amount of damage over the years, from torn tendons during a skiiing accident, hyper-extensions during a volleyball game, and then a torn miniscus which was deemed minor thus no need for operating. My knee issues have been a motivating factor for having the DS, as i was told i was too overweight to warrent having the corrective knee surgery.
