Slow looser? Up and down? Trying to loose (or re-loose) that last 10?

I can't be the only one who is trying to loose but can't SEE my success because of NORMAL weight fluctuations.  I choose to believe that I am not loosing and stop my plan when in fact I AM loosing.

That wonderful period of FAST (and consistent) weight loss where each time I got on the scale the number went down down down just ruined me I think lol.

What I did today was GRAPH my last 13 days of weights.  Even though the graph is not going straight down, it is going down.  I needed that visual to keep me on track.

I would post my graph but I'm completely incompetent on this computer.  But here are my weights over the last 13 days so you can see what I am talking about:

149
147.5
149
146.5
146.5
145.5
144.5
146
145.5
147
145.5

Yeah, I know, if I didn't weigh every day I wouldn't have this problem.  But I need to weigh every day to keep myself on track and now that I can have a visual via a graph it is really helping me see that I am doing the right things.

Maybe this will help one other person.

I like visuals & I think if you keep the focus on what you need to do, you'll likely get there, though you may have to "watch your window" to stay there.

I couldn't help but be reminded of some of the ridiculously things I did in my attempts to curb my appetite/ cravings for some things.  I think the most remarkable was the plan that, after dinner, I CHAINED my refridgerator with a double loop AND padlock, along with another chain for my cabinets.  Then, I put the key in the trunk of my car, in the wheel well, no less.    Sheesh.  Didn't last too long.

Becky,

THank you so much for this post!!  I am stuck right at 151 to 153 right now, and I want to get to 140 or 135.  I keep going up and down, but I think if I graph it like you, I can do it.  I'm working on adding in exercise, which I have not done until this point.  But I'm upping the protein today and lowering the carbs.  We can do this!

My graph of June really helped motivate me today.  I just did a simple two column excel sreadsheet and told it to make a line graph and voila!

We sure can!!!

Wow, we have very similar stats!  Did you ever get down below 145?  I did right after my bowel obstruction surgery, but bounced back to 150-ish.  I am trying to up protein and cut sugar.  Man, i am having some serious sugar issues.  Other problem is that I've started back up with that damn Diet Coke.  Every time I have one, I crave sweets and junk the rest of the day.

My other thing is exercise -- or lack thereof!!  i just don't do it.  I have tried, but when I get home, I'm beat.  So I'm going to really try to get up 1/2 hour earlier and try to walk before I get ready for work.

Let's keep in touch and see how we do!

Sarah,

You so sound like me!!! Yes, I was at 125 for a minute and then stayed around 130 for awhile, then 135, then 138- Now 150. I am not doing any exercise either and I was running every other day after I had the surgery. That is why I got so low I gather. I need to get my ass up and start going but my Dad is terminally ill and it takes everything out of me, worrying, and stress. I work full time, and have two kids.
Keep it touch.

I'm a slow loser.  And you are absolutely right.  I thought that I was done losing weight.  But I still kept charting on labrat.  In the last 6 months I've lost about 15 more lbs.  I'm losing about 2 lbs a month.  I'm not going to set the world on fire, but it's enough for me.  And it's slow enough that people around me don't really notice- which I really like.  No peanut gallery comments on my food choices, my weight, and my appearance.  I'll take it.

I need to lose about 2 more pounds for a normal BMI .  I still seem to be slowly losing at over 2 yrs out...so may get there yet.

this was a great help Becky. I still have about 25-30 lbs to go and my fluctuations resemle yours.. up a little, stay the same, down a little, and etc.. gets really annoying. I weigh myself daily too, trying to hit that 100 lb mark that is a pound away! It helps to know that I am not the only one that obsesses about these things!
