Congratulations on your one year surgiversary!    I know it's been such a tough one for you, but at least you've fooled everyone in your photos.   You look so healthy and beautiful!    My sister also had a very difficult first year - much like yours.     At one year, she honestly could not say she loved her DS.   She'd just finally had her feeding tube removed, and hated the experiences she'd had.   Now, at the two year point, she can honestly say she loves her DS.    She has suffered no health issues since, and is now easing into the regularity of post-DS life that most of us enjoy, and loving her new mobility, new curves, and new wardrobe!    I suspect your two-year post may be much the same way.

Your honesty is honest and humbling. To see where you have been and har far you have come. I feel like you have wrote some of my story. I feel the exact same way you do. I had the nausea, throwing up every day (multiple times a day) for 6 months, dehydration, acid reflux etc.. There were days when I didn't know how I was going to make it to work and continue on with a normal life. I was very, very mad ad myself that I voluntarily did this to myself and didn't try once again to lose weight on my own.

With having said that, like I have in other posts, I'm almost 14 mos out and what a difference time makes. I like you can eat and drink. How trivial that may seem to "normal" people but when you have been through what we have you are just thankful to eat and drink and not throw up. Am I sorry I had it done. I honestly don't know. It depends on my mood and the day. Would I do it again? Knowing what I went through "Nah" I'd have to pass. But I did it and it's over with am I'm doing fine and I will continue to be viligant with my labs and vitamins to lead a productive, happy, healthy life. Everyone has a different opinion and story that is what I LOVE about this board. You kept it real for others to read! So, so glad you are doing well now.
