AW'ing just because I can at almost 5 years out.

Yup - that's the new house.   My husband's grandparents owned this and it's almost 100 years old.   My husband was born into this house.     It was in such terrible condition that when we first started dating, I wouldn't stay here, LOL.     We've been working on it now for a year, and it's coming along so nicely.   Those floors are quarter sawn maple - our floor refinisher's jaw dropped when he first saw them!

I could tell it was a very old home.  That door is beautiful as well.  lol.  Glad you are fixing the house up.  It's worth it.  Beautiful home, beautiful lady, a wonderful DS life!  Yeah!  

A couple more pics of our restoration work.   Aside from the ceilings being drywalled and the floors refinished professionally, we've done ALL the work ourselves, including stablizing and repairing over 100 cracks in the old lathe plaster.

A home like that in Houston would be worth around a million or more depending on the area.  It's beautiful!  Love the bronze hardware. Older homes are so fun and have so much more character than new construcion in my opinion.  Thanks for sharing the photos.
