I am headed to the info meeting tonight and while I have a notebook full of questions I am worried that I will forget something important. I took down the questions on dsfacts.com and added a few of my own specific to my fibromyalgia but I am wondering aside from the questions on dsfacts what questions do I need to ask at the informational meeting tonight? I am fairly certain I  forgetting some important ones.

The informational meeting is just that, information to help inform you. It is fine to ask questions but you will have plenty of time to ask questions as you progress through the process. Set back and soak in the information, it will help you decide if this is right for you! I like the support groups, that seems like a good place to get information as well as the Nutritionists but the best place to ask is at the surgeon visits!

I'm not sure who your surgeon is, but I seem to recall there was some question as to whether your surgeon truly does the DS?   I would affirm that yes he does, and ask how many he has performed, and how the DS aftercare differs from RNY aftercare.  I feel that's going to tell you a bit about where they stand on the DS.     Ask them how the DS differs from the RNY.....you should be hearing that DS'ers malabsorb more, that they have a stomach instead of a pouch, that their pyloric valve remains intact, etc.
