Tonya,
Really nice to find another Okie here.

My initial suggestion, besides getting your labs done ASAP and getting into see you doctor, is to start supplementing with 3-4 protein shakes/coffees/:drinks per day. Get over to the Health Food Center and get yourself some good quality protein powder. What vitamin regimen are you on?

I am about a month behind you.  I understand the not wanting to eat.  I really do!  For me, adding carbs helped up my appetite.  So, try adding some carbs.  Also, I make eating a job.  I have a schedule that I follow.   It is work.  I sometimes hate it!

I wish you well.  I know this is hard.  Let us know what your labs say.  You can do this!  Work hard at upping your protein.  Start with some carbs!  I really think that was the trick for me to get some appetite back!

Here ya go. I was wrong, I did wait 24 hours after I posted my PLEASE HELP post before actually taking the advice given. It started a very long, slow road to recovery for me, and some of the advice stung. It was also the most loving thing anyone could have ever done for me. Maybe these posts will do more than lip service for ya. I do truly wish you the best.

Are you drinking protein shakes?

 Hi there,
It may be a little late for you to try to get back to normal by eating.  You probably need some TPN and then, when you are somewhat better, you can attempt to take in massive amounts or protein to maintain your health.

I am a DSer that can't get enough protein from food.  For some reason my body requires whey protein shakes.  It doesn't matter how much protein I try and get from food I have to drink the shakes.  I know they aren't exactly cheap but I had to come to terms with it, just like dry D.  It's expensive but I have to have it.

Forget trying to force food down your throat and drink it.  Walmart has cheap protein powder and I can totally drink it via Lori B's coffee shakes.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I was on steroid treatment for two years. Steroids can waste your muscles and weaken your strength. You might want to take a look in that direction. Just something to think about.

Where did the OP mention steroids?

Unless she edited after you read it, and before I did, she said she was getting steroid injections for her injured back. From her fall. Still don't get her lack of urgency.

"Now I do have 2 herniated discs, that I am going through physical therapy and steriod injections and I am hoping that as I gain more muscle strength my back will get better."
