Dallas - Fort Worth, North Texas - like, is there anyone but me?

How can I live in Denton, TX - home of Dr. Stewart, a favorite southern DS doctor and have NO ONE willing to meet me for lunch or dinner? :( It's quite ... heart breaking. It really hurts my feelings that I was once rejected by a group here (I don't know if they still exist, went underground, or what) when I feel I'm such a friendly, sharing person. Hormone dump, maybe? I dunno.

Well other than the office group, Think they meet every month. The other one I know of is not underground, just  barely exist,  They don't meet anymore..if at all it has been once a quarter? .There are a few of us still here,

I know there are some in north ft worth, one ot two were closer to the other side of Denton, more toward Dallas,,,Which was why could not get many to get to gether on a time...

Maybe hazards of returning to a more active life of better health ????   LOL

Larissa,

I'm in Oklahoma City and might be able to come down for a lunch or something.

Hey, I know exactly what that feels like.  It isn't fun.

Now I am in Alabama and I know a total of two other DSers in the whole state.  One I've met the other I've yet to meet.  Neither is close.

If I lived near you I would definitely be having lunch with you!

Can you come cruise with us in 2012?  That was the best extended support group meeting EVER.

Hey, Becky, great idea about the cruise. I'm kind of lonely here in OK too.

Our cruise was so much fun.  But there was some serious support going on 24/7.  The next cruise will have a few more structured support group meetings, but honestly most of the "good stuff" happened over meals, drinks, and while sitting around on the lido deck.  I had quite a re-entry adjustment period.  And I still miss my new friends.

You should join our facebook page and check it out.

Becky,
I'm on the FB page but never post. I'm not a FB person but I guess I need to get with the times. I looked at the info. We actually did that cruise out of Galveston last year. The time works for us but the money may be an issue since I think I'm retiring in 2 weeks. We'll certainly think about it. I love cruising!!!!!!

I live here in MWC. But I understand where you're coming from. Everytime someone asks me how I lost weight and I tell them and they assume it's a Gastic Bypass. I quickly tell them no that's not what I had done and I explain the DS and it's like they blocked out what I said and continue to believe that I had a GB.
