So I've had teetch I know have been rottening in the back of my mouth but I was unemployed and damn near had a lot of other healthe issues taking center stage this past year.

Well, I started getting sore and pain under a tooth and was ignoring it...actually hoped that the Augmentin I had to take for my sinus infection would just mosey over to the tooth - no go.

Yesterday the left half of my lower jaw swelled up and I had to go to the dentist in an emergency appt today. Guess who needs oh...maybe 3 or 4 root canals, a few cavites fixed, and several crowns not to mention 3 bridges I've known I needed for years?

Right now I have been prescribed Clindamycin to get rid of this raging infection. I don't know what it is going to do with my day to day struggles I already have with loose stools and hemmorroids. I have no idea how I am supposed to pay for the two teeth that are most desperately in need of root canals.

I'm hoping the infection can come under control and I can put those off...

But my most pressing concern at the moment is what Clindamycin is going to do to me? Anyone?

Edit - he is suggesting old fashioned penicillin now. I don't know which to take - anyone?

OH HELL NO every website on this anitbiotic has huge warnings about how clindamycin is the number one CAUSE of c. diff infections.

I'm calling the doctor and telling him to switch my perscription.

Anyone know of an alternate I can suggest?

Edit - they are calling in a script for penicillin.
