I can't WAIT to go!   We are getting there several days early, because my son wants us to do some sightseeing before the wedding.

About the shoe issue....it IS Montana...cowboy boots?  LOL

I don't think any of the choices are inappropriate, but I do think the purple one is a tad matronly.  I agree with others that the most important thing is that YOU feel comfortable in the dress, because no matter how smokin hot you look, if you don't feel good in the dress you will not have as good a time as you could have had.  So go and try on things that you normally wouldn't, but make sure that you feel comfortable in whatever you choose.

*personally, that little blue number looks great*

I agree with most of what's been said so far, at least about the first two dresses.

The first is nice, appropriate, and yes, a safe choice. There's nothing wrong with that.

The second should not be worn to anyone's wedding.

The third is just not MOTB material in my opinion.

Keep looking, if those are your choices!

A guy's opinion is always important!  Chad, look at the couple of pics I posted further down in the post - a dark blue and a lavender.   What are your opinions of those?   Those are two actual dresses that I tried on on Saturday - what are your thoughts on those?

I don't care for the color of the second one. If you could get it in a darker color, maybe. The first one is nice though.

I like Sia's, but I think it may be too ****tail/nightlife for the occasion.

Montana wildflowers - purply-blues, yellows, and coral flowers.  You are a size 6 now and likely worked hard to get there so you want to complement that small figure with a flattering dress, right?  the cropped jacket or wrap sounds ideal to go with any sleevless dress you find.  Also- do not underestimate the power of body hugging undergarments to smooth things out and a good tailor.  My only suggestion is not to cover up too much like the first dress you posted.

I'm a 4 - sometimes a 2.   It's hard to find small dresses in my area.    I think that navy one will fit me in a six though.     I wonder if I should wait to see what the bride's mom buys?

Oopsie!  My bad on the sizing- I know my mom went through this when my brother married in Nov.  She and the bride's mom talked about what they each were wearing too- I am sure you will choose just right and from what has been posted most choices look appropriate for the occasion.  Is this the first wedding?  (Not sure if son is your only child.)

PS when I was bridesmaid last- some mom's checked out dresses at the bridal shop- have you considered that as an option too?  If you find one that way then you can get the right sizing and tailored!

Julie you have the personality... not to mention the body to rock both of those dresses your sister sent you!!!! They are gorgeous and so are you!!!  I can already picture you in the blue one with your sassy blonde hair and some super sweet heels!

I think you will be presently surprised how great you will look and feel in one of those dresses :-)
