Body dysmorphic or a fuddy-duddy?

I love the color of the first one, and the skirt is very feminine and pretty.  I don't love the top, but I have arm issues (I have seen your arms, they are not bad AT ALL) and understand wanting to wear somethign like that...

I like the form of the third one.  The middle one I am not a fan of, the color is pretty, but the dress just looks plain.

Good luck in your search, how fun is it to be able shop for dresses and know that you will fit in just about everything?!  Have a great time finding your dress...and we want pics!

I love the third one. I think the hem line would be better on you than the first one. I'm not real tall either and the longer hems just make me look shorter unless they are more streamlined.

I've never been a clothes savvy person. Just give me my jeans and tees!
If I were you I'd go shopping trying on all colors and styles of dresses. I love the dress you picked out. Trying on dresses might give you a change of heart! I read somewhere that we tend to gravitate to the kind and style of clothes we thought ourselves to look best in. I know this holds true for me. Congratulations to your son and his fiancé starting a wonderful life together!

The green one says, "I'm old enough to be the mother of the groom, and young enough to remember how he came to be in the first place."  My vote is for the last dress.

I think you should go out and try on dresses to see how they actually look on you instead of how you *think* they'll look on you.  You may be very surprised by what you learn.  I had to buy a dress to wear to a wedding last summer and I envisioned something similar to your first choice.  I tried on several different styles - some I would NEVER have thought to try on but the salesperson insisted - and one of the dresses just almost pronounced itself as The Dress for me.

As it turns out, it was very similar to the third dress you have listed, and made by the same designer.  The moment I put it on I knew it was the right dress.

So, go make a day of it and have some fun.  Be daring, be safe, be bold.  You might learn that you can wear things that you never thought you could.  One thing for certain - you will look gorgeous no matter what style dress you choose.

I did go down to my closest mall (which is 70 miles away) and tried on a couple of them the other day.   This is what I tried on:

S.L. Fashions 2-pc. Taffeta Dress & Jacket Set - Navy
and this:

R & M Richards® Shimmer Bolero Jacket and Shutter Dress - Lavender
Both came no smaller than a size 8, and were too big, but  the navy blue looked pretty cool, and it is available to order in a 6.   I'm just worried about navy not being very "Montana Wildflower-ish!"   The purplish one would look good too....if I can find it smaller.

OH Julie,
I like them all, BUT I do not think the second one would be appropriate for the wedding. I do think the other two would look great on you. Why not buy two dresses YOU are COMFY in and take some pics.. I like the idea that we help you pick the one !  We will be honest on which one looks great.

My doctor calls it body change dysmorphia. Seriously. We fought for three weeks for me to wear a pair of jeans. I've gained ten pounds in three months and ready to slit my own throat.
Fuck carbs. That said, your sister is correct and you need a reality check. Those dresses are fugly.

I see you in this!!!:
