I'll be at Dr. E's office at 11am or so to talk to Emily and see Dr. Franco for my checkup, so you might see me there. I sincerely hope you can get the surgery on Thursday and resolve your pain.

Also, some of the nurses/doctors at Fairfax are quite hit or miss. I had one problematic resident that was rude and useless (and caused me quite a lot of needless pain), but another one that was quite good and helpful. Guess it is a toss-up.

Oh dear :-(. This is just AWFUL. ER docs are notorious about getting freaky if a person is on more than one controlled substance, so I can kind of understand that. Xanax and klonopin (which I take, too) are in the same class of drug as Valium, so they would naturally get hinky. It's an occupational hazard *sigh*. Did someone figure out if the Xanax might work the same way as the Valium? Or maybe Xanax and klonopin together? (I get stoned just typing that lol.)

Regarding the narcotic nausea: Some people get better results taking it with the antinausea med and just a bite or so of food.

OMG, that sounds so awful.  Well, I totally believe we have to be our own healthcare advocate because no one knows our body like we do.  Oh, good luck.  I hope everything turns out well and you get some relief soon.  Prayers are coming your way!

Wow what an experience you had! I am glad you stuck to your guns and insisted on the surgeon. Take it easy and get lots of rest!

Update: I forgot to add on the way there I was in so much pain my husband ended up with a reckless driving ticket. I thought the speed limit on the highway was 65 but it was 55, just what we needed another bill and now our insurance rates will go up.

Just spoke with the coordinator who said there is no surgery scheduled on Thursday for me and she has no idea who the nice resident surgery Dr who is working with my surgeon is. I told her he spoke with my surgeon from the ER 2x and said he could def. do both things on Thur and that it was a definate. I am in tears because this is just one big huge flipping mess. She said I can come and see the Dr Wed and talk to him myself because she isnt going to make that call or appointment. I dont quite understand any of this. I want this pain gone and something scheduled to get it gone as I was promised. Maybe I am being a baby but its just one thing after another.

Holy cow- what a freakish nightmare just to get a diagnosis for your pain and problems.  I can't believe thats how things went down.  I hope you still get support for the anxiety aside from meds because I know just that experience sounds like a lot to deal with mentally and emotionally.  Hope you get some of this resolved soon and get some pain relief.
