I feel like a ticking timebomb too Larissa. Not only does my surgeon not take the gallbladder or appendix, he doesn't prescribe Actigall or any other medication to prevent stones. I'm not "stressing" about it, but I know that at some point in time this sucker is going to blow, it's just a question of when. I'm moving to Charleston in 2 months and S.C. is the land of no DS surgeons that I have been able to find. Sooo do I drive 7 hours back to have it yanked by my DS surgeon that should have taken it out to begin with orrrr do I fine a GI surgeon to do it that has no experience with the DS.

Gallbladder or appendix issues really have nothing to do with the DS, other than they can complicate diagnosing more serious issues (like bowel obstruction). Any surgeon can take them out.
Duodenal Switch hybrid due to complications.

I don't know, Ungson said I had 2 or 3 stones in there when he took it. He couldn't believe I wasn't already in pain. Who know, you can never tell with those things.

I do I do.

I paid to have it taken out but my surgery went long due to a leak and it had to be abandoned.

Got a refund for the gallbladder part and ended up with getting to keep a perfectly healthy gallbladder!

I also never took the gallbladder bile stuff.

Its a huge YMMV. I may have been lucky because I was only one of the 'five Fs' though.
