Full like the old days after thanksgiving dinner. That's what I told someone just the other day...funny how much we all think alike.

When I am full, I feel full. No pain. If I eat one bit to much, I get a runny nose or hiccups. I never knew what full felt like before my DS.

Yup, runny nose, hiccups and with me if I eat one bite too much (and I know just how much that is) I feel sick.

It's still surprises me how much less it takes to feel REALLY full.

No pain my dear, just full. That must be awful to feel pain everytime you eat. Make sure you go to a good REVISION surgeon because most drs dont do revisions. Good luck to you! The ds was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Hi Amy,

I am  a band to DS revision and am only 3 weeks out.  I cannot eat very much at all at this point, but what I can tell you is that absolutely nothing has gotten "stuck" and it has been wonderful.  Right up to surgery, I was constantly in the bathroom throwing up to get food "unstuck".

Good luck to you.  You will be so relieved to get rid of that crap band!

Early out I called  it 'Thanksgiving' full. One bite too many and it hurt.  But now that I'm healed and learning the signs of pending fullness, I can leave my plate feeling full and satisfied but not painful.  The other day I was offered dessert right after dinner and I ate it.  I was in a moderate amount of fullness pain for about 20 min.  It was a stupid thing for me to do.  It felt like I had been to a buffet... y'all know what I'm talking about!!

But the rest of the time, finding fullness is easy.  Eating slowly helps me.  I have always been a fast eater so this has been an adjustment.  When you feel satisfied STOP! do not pass Go, do not collect $200.  You will become more regretful with every bite past the stop signs.

What I like about my DS sleeve (sleeve sizes vary) is that I still have the ability to get satisfaction from the act of eating. I'm not talking about addiction, just the feeling of normalcy. The 'party' doesn't end after a couple bites.  I can eat a small meal. When I sit down at the table with family or go out with friends I don't stand out as the woman that has to order from the kids menu.  I order steak, ribs, seafood like an ADULT.  Yes, there are always leftovers but a normal person should have leftovers from the large portions restaurants serve these days.

I know this is way more info than you wanted :) My fingers are feeling chatty this morning.

I feel satiated and if I'm smart, I stop. Otherwise I get miserably full for a while. That satiety thing was totally new and wondersome to me. I'd NEVER felt it before. Totally incredible.

I also get a runny nose and hiccups. I am still learning when my body is full and when to stop. Sometimes I will take one bite too many and feel awful and either have to vomit (this thankfully has settled down) or it feels like an elephant on my chest. Its a learning game for me and usually now I am able to judge portion size a bit better so I dont feel stuffed full.
