Larissa, you look beautiful!!!!

I think it is so brave to cut your hair all the way back and take the plunge, but the results are gorgeous.  Enjoy your new hair and all the positive attention, I expect you will get with it!

Awsome post.  I love that you were bold enough to share and let us all agree that the wig looks amazing!  I never knew stylists cut wigs on you like that.

You have to find a stylist that is experienced in cutting wigs. In this case, it is very common for black women to wear wigs and so it was not surprising the stylist I found experienced was black herself.

Larissa, I agree with everyone here, you look amazing. My hair is thinning alot like yours. It is very noticeable. My hair was thinning pre op but now that I am in the throes of the hair loss phase, it is extremely noticeable. I am pumping the Biotin and Selenium, in hopes that I can get some of it back. Otherwise, I will be joining you in the hunt for a natural looking wig. Congrats to you and thanks for your openness. Honestly, right now, I am feeling rather vulnerable to this whole hair thing. I know you understand.

I am glad you like your new hairdo. I agree it's cute.

One point you made stood out to me. You mentioned you need to spend a lot of money on an expensive wig to get something nice.

That's not true. You can get a really nice wig for less than $30.   If you want hunman hair it would run around $50+. Quality lace fronts start around $75+. These are the type you see Wendy Williams and Tyra Banks wearing.

The key is shopping for wigs in the right neighborhood.

Wig stores that tend to sell to caucasion women charge more. The quality and texture of hair is no better than the ones black women wear.

If you have a predominately black part of town near you, seek out a beauty supply store there.   If you have a friend or co-worker that is black, ask her for a good place for beauty supplies in the area.

With the savings, you should be able to get several new wigs and switch them up with your mood.

I wish you were closer by Atlanta.  Then,  we could go hair shopping together.  *smile*

I so totally agree! Some of my favorite wigs I found online were modeled by black women but I could not find a color that would look right with my pale skin. I tried, and had to return them, the lightest reds I could find, still was too dark, and the texture too heavy for a white pasty woman like me :(
