I don't know what size you are, and chances are, you don't truly know either unless you get a professional fitting done.  I know you think that VS bras are "too expensive," but they don't have to be.  I always get their cotton lingerie push-ups - they are 2 for $45 (regular price), and a lot of times, I find them on sale when they run their clearance sales online - I've gotten them for as little as $12 apiece.  The quality and comfort level is awesome, and I don't think the price is excessive, to be honest.  I have had lots of people comment that they are jealous that I've "kept my boobs" and really, I haven't - I always credit it to wearing good bras.  I think you should check them out - IMO, they are totally worth the investment.

Several months back I finally went to Dillard's and had a professional fitting.  Prior to that I had only bought the super cheap bras at WalMart (no more than $5 -$6 each).  But since I lost a bunch of weight, I decided to splurge a little and get measures (for the first time in my life).  I had previously always bought a 44DD.  Once I lost weight and got professionally fitted, I was a 40DDD - yep a DDD.  Who knew?  The 44DD just made me "hang down" - but when I purchased the new bras I was actually lifted (without them feeling like they were up in my throat.)  I love these new bras!  They were a little over $60 each - and I got 3 of them - but they made all of the difference in the world!!  I've lost about 30 more pounds since then - and should probably get refitted - but don't want to put out the money either...but probably will, pretty soon.

I went from a 42 DDD to a now barely 34 D, what I did is went to Victoria secrets and I got measured and I tried on every bra, every style they had. up a size, down a cup, down a size up a cup.
I ended up with "The Naked" Demi cut.    I now can walk in, see the very cult patterns and just buy it off the shelf or on line. They are expensive, but I am finding that from not being so big and fat, I am not killing the elastic on the bras or the underwire is not pushing throughout the fabric.

Its working for me.  I also like the Rounch panties. they have this elastic that goes up the crack of your but kind, not like a thong but it will gather my skin butt and make me look like i have nice butt cheeks.  Let me see if I can get the link. I will post below.

Good luck. I did take my daughter with me, so we did have lots of laughs while trying them on. lightened up this very stressful shopping experience

Beck, I got some new panties with the seam up the back. I do NOT like them. They're chronically up my butt. Consequently, I don't wear them and wasted $30. meh.

I  am sure everyone feels different in different panties.  Depends on the shape of your butt too I guess.

I totally agree! Oh and my butt - it's shape is saggy. LOL Although the other day, the boy said I had my pear shaped butt back. I was, however, wearing tight jeans.

Thank you so, so much ladies for the responses. I will definitely go and get professionally fit. However, I actually had a fitting and my ta ta's still didn't fit in the bra right, still roomy at the top, at least 3 of the ones I bought do. She said that I was a 36C or a 36B, and I really don't think that she knew what she was doing. I can't just go into the store and buy a 36C, because they all aren't fitting correctly. I have taken so many bras back to the store in the past few months, that it is becoming a running joke in my house.

The ones that do fit okay (36C's), start to bother me around the band after hours of wearing them. I do have a t-shirt bra, which I love, but I still have spillage on the sides, so now what? What bra do I wear to the fitting, if the 36C bras don't fit that great, in order to get an accurate fit? Should I wear the t-shirt bra? I know that I will probably have to try on quite a few bras that day, but I still don't know what which one to wear for the initial fitting. Does it even matter? I hope I don't sound like a complete idiot, but of course, I have never had this problem before, as you many of you probably haven't either.

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions and possible solutions.
