NSAIDS and Mickey's death
I feel that out of respect for Mickie and her family that you should deete this post. You may question it all you want, but on a public forum, and on the day of her death is not appropriate.
Please, please remove your post. You are doing no one any favors by questioning the cir****tances around her death.

I can kind of see both sides of this feeling about threads like this one. Sometimes they are REALLY obnoxious. I didn't read your post that way at all, but I had a moment's disquiet when I first read the title.
If you're so inclined, maybe there might be a better way to edit/rephrase the title. Ummmm, kinda drawing a blank for suggestions, but maybe something along the line of expressing your sadness and something you read made you worried, so you have a question.....Am I making any sense? Or in other words, phrasing it in some way that makes it about your feelings and questions and not about Mickie, cuz that's really what your posts seem to be saying.
Personally, I was unaware that folks wouldn't know that Diclofenac is an NSAID. *shrug* I recall that one of my docs, probably my then-PCP, refused to prescribe it to me for my pain issues when I was still SMO, saying something about it being risky for my heart-lung issues. Now that I think about it, that was probably about the time he suggested moving to an opioid-based pain management plan.

I for one am not offended by this post. I too am saddened by this sweet gal's passing and have lit a candle in her memory at church tonight.
The replies that you have gotten here are sadly rude. As many have said before me, if you're not interested in the topic instead of judging-don't read it.
I think it's also clear why so many stay away from this forum.

I'm new, and I didn't know Mickie, but I am still sorry for her and her family. Anytime a loved one is lost it is a tragedy affecting many, many people. That being said, I don't think the OP meant any disrespect. I got the feeling that she was only trying to prevent any further tragedies by alerting anyone else that might be taking diclofenac to the possibilities of there being a correlation between diclofenac and post-surgical bleeding. I take diclofenac for a herniated disc and never knew it could possibly be an issue.

I am not offended by your post because I understand that you are looking for answers to make sense of it. Not everyone grieves the same way. There's no right way, but I do understand social etiquette, and perhaps we could revisit this later because Mickie was nothing if not very smart, helpful and proactive about her health. She would want others to be wise and be careful.

I am also not offended by this. If I passed away, I would hope that my situation might help to pass knowledge on to others and possibly help or even save someone else (and those close to them) from the same fate.

I know this is such a sensitive subject and I understand both sides. I'm not assuming anything because I don't know all of the facts. I will say that I do think we sometimes are so eager to go into surgery, whether it be for WLS or plastics that we sometimes overlook the risks. I noticed on Mickie's list of meds that she also listed birth control. I was advised by my WL surgeon and my plastic surgeon to stop my BC at least a month prior to all of my procedures because of the increased risk they posed. I don't know if all surgeons give that same advise or not.
I am just so heart sick over this. I can't stop thinking about Mickie and the devestation that her family must be feeling.
