Geeeez.....you're always taking the words right out of my mouth.
One other point I'd like to add.
Newbies, when you see people posting about all of the wonderful foods DS'ers eat, please do NOT assume that you can eat them right out of the starting gate.    I've seen lots of really silly posts of late of baby post-ops eating absolutely rediculous things  and then wondering why they feel like their insides are going to explode, or worse yet, end up in the hospital.   Furthermore, I still stand by my advice, especially if one is not a lightweight, to stay as low carb as possible for as long as possible.   Lots of time left in your life to eat foolish crap, I say!   Get the weight off first!

Thanks Kirmy!  Great and helpful post!  I'm not too excited about having bulldog jowls, but for me it is an easy trade to be able to ski, horseback ride, take dance lessons, or do any of the other things on my wish list that I can't do now.  Woof Woof I say!!

I've also added "long handled bum wiping device" to my presurgery shopping list.   Glad to know about that now vs. after I've had the surgery!!  My 18 year old son is going to hang out and help me the first week after the surgery, but assisted (him helping me) bum wiping is definitely not something either of us is cool with!!
