Home from arm lift surgery.....all is good :)

I had my surgery in Belgium (I'm a Canadian living in Germany for those who didn't know) and they gave me an Intravenous Sedation instead of General Anesthesia and man what a difference!  I feel so much better than I have after previous surgeries as I was not intubated and I breathed on my own.

Surgery was less than 24 hours ago and I feel pretty good.  DH fed me some meatballs last night as I was not able to lift my arm to feed myself but I just ate bacon and eggs on my own.

I'm surprised at the wound care instructions as I've not heard of anyone having it like this on these forums.  I have a large bandage covering the wound site and then an elastacized compression mesh type thing from my armpits to my wrists.

This stays on for TWO WHOLE weeks without cleansing, rebandaging, etc.  I asked three times for clarification on this as I was so surprised.

Well that's enough typing for now.  Off to read the boards and see how everyone else is doing :)

Two weeks??  Wow...that IS different.

I'm glad that your anesthesia helped out a lot, and that you're on the mend.  Post pics when you can!

Hi lovely one.  Glad you're doing fine.  Odd about the dressing????  Ask you're surgeon because surely they don't mean two weeks without cleaning it????  Very odd!

RIP Mickie aka Happychick.  You will be missed deeply.

I hate wound care, so I'd be on cloud nine with your instructions. :)

Glad it went well! I'm taking notes for my own PS one day.
