OT- Gay Politics and Family Dynamics
I have a hard time understanding people who hate. It's awful. Your ex mother-in-law sounds like a nasty individual. As much as your daughter says it doesn't bother her, you know it does.
If she refuses to stop seeing her grandmother there's not much you can do other than what you're doing - be supportive, be loving, and keep sending your daughter the message that she is loved.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate you listening to me vent. Kyra loves her grandma, but doesn't like her much. She's already starting to avoid going over there. Then of course Grandma complains that she isn't seeing enough of her. It's ridiculous, but it's Grandma's choice. She's always been a perpetually dissatisfied type personality.

I am very sorry both you and your daughter are going through this.
It seems as though you have raised a wonderful, successful daughter, regardless of who she loves. I don't understand how people can be so judgemental.
Sometimes people of a certain generation are just too opinionated, and don't realize how hurtful they can be.
I have always told my kids that I don't care who they're sleeping with, as long as they're decent people and treat whoever they're involved with with dignity and respect.
A cousin of mine was married 25+ years, and her husband died (we think he had 9/11 issues, he was a first responder who survived but many of his co workers did not). Two or so years later she seems to have fallen in love with a wonderful woman and they are happy.
What more can we want as parents, to have our kids be happy?
More power to you, and to your daughter too...she sounds great.
