Can't get warm! Does this pass?
Strangely enough, I am almost 8 years post op and still have some issues with being cold. I always assumed my coldness was due to losing brown fat stores. It did get better except for my nose, hands and feet. I am seeing an orthopod for another issue and he happened to be examining my hand and felt it get cold while he was examining it. After a bunch of tests and a visit to a neurologist and a rheumatologist, I have just been diagnosed with Raynaud's. Never heard of any correlation to Raynaud's and WLS, but wonder how many of us are running around thinking we are cold due to losing fat stores when it is actually something else.
Things that helped with that immediate post op coldness were: a microdown coat, a hat, gloves, glove liners and sock liners. I found the liners to be a wonderful, non-bulky addition.
Stay warm,
Sharon

I am freezing all of the time, or at least it feels like it. I just went shopping with my mom the other day at the outlet mall, and I bought a pair of winter boots for the first time in my adult life. My mom was like, "WTF??? Are you seriously going to wear those?" and I said, "Hell yeah I'm going to wear those...I don't think my feet will survive the winter without them!" But yeah, I totally feel like a little old lady now who's cold almost all of the time, and I remember always being so hot before...it's crazy weird. I think I own maybe one or two sweaters, because I never had to wear them before - but I am definitely shopping around for some now.
