Another Fatality....Newbies PLEASE Research Your Surgeon
Let me just add my voice to that too, and say that you could not be in better hands than Dr. K. But to answer your question, I think the best way to research a surgeon is to ask for patient feedback on every online forum you have access to, and to meet with some of their patients in real life as well. Online testimonials are pretty much useless, because the surgeons get to cull out the negative ones and all you see are the positive reviews.
But in three years on this board and others, I have NEVER heard a negative word about Dr. K.

Yes Melanie, Ocala, FL. I live here and could have had the RNY done by 2 different surgeons in my back yard. I also could have had the DS done by one of them but was just not comfortable with his experience in doing the DS (Dr. Overcash). I attended the seminars and I just didn't have a good gut feeling at all. Since I was self-pay I started asking here on OH about good self-pay surgeons and the rest is history. I traveled to PA. to have Dr. Peters as my surgeon and I couldn't have chosen a better surgeon. They boast and brag about Monroe Regional being a Center of Excellence and this type of thing seems to happen frequently. It just makes me sick!
