Calling all Dr. Roslin pre- or post-ops...(or anyone who can offer insight)
Read here to see what's happening to the last person who didn't bother to heed the advice and collective wisdom of this board regarding surgeon selection: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/4228975/Hello-Everyone- Still-Miserable/
Now use the search function at the top of this page for "Larissa H." and read her story. She couldn't be bothered to listen to advice, either, despite a TON of evidence that her surgeon of choice was a butcher. All this to save less than $2,000 in self pay fees. Brilliant, no?
You need to go to California and have Dr. Keshishian or Dr. Rabkin do your procedure. I don't care if your surgeon is Mother Teresa. She's new to the DS and therefore new to whatever-to-DS revision. You'd be a damned fool to subject yourself to this.

Since I'm likely already in trouble with you, I might as well just go ahead and say it...your surgeon may be technically capable and very nice...but she knew or should have known that you were NOT a candidate for a band because of your BMI and she should have refused to consider it because it would not serve YOU well.
We knew about it, because of this:

And because of this:

Oh you're not in trouble with me Ms. Cal Culator...I've come to respect you and appreciate your input despite early head butting, and I know that you wouldn't say something if you didn't honestly believe it or feel it was in the best interest of the person you were saying it to.
I fully agree that I should NOT have ever had this stupid band put in me, and in fact Dr. Blackstone did try to talk me out of it more than once. But...I am stubborn as hell and thought I had done my research and refused to listen to reason. I had the attitude that everyone on here says you need for the DS, I just had it for the wrong surgery.
On a side note...Dr. Blackstone is actually thinking about not doing the band anymore on anyone just because of the growing failures with it and the ration of problems the band causes vs the problems the band solves.

These are all EXCELLENT things for me to think about and consider. I will absolutely look into the other "stories" that you all have provided for me to consider. I have also made a list of questions for me to ask Dr. Blackstone so that I can feel more comfortable and be aware of what I'm going in to.
I appreciate the vets chiming in with your concerns and warnings. Don't think I'm not listening to you, I will absolutely take what you've said into consideration. I know you all have seen and heard way more stories about this sort of thing than I have.
Thank you very much for those of you who are easing my mind about the common channel length and sleeve size. I will be sure to discuss that so I know what I'm getting.

Everyone has made good points, so I'm not going to reha**** I'm just going to reiterate you're not having the DS. YOU'RE HAVING A REVISION. That changes the ballgame, sister. This ain't ripping off a bandaid. This is complex and it's your life we're talking about.
If you want Roslin to do your surgery, then find a way to get to New York and have him do it. Settling for someone who's watched him do it doesn't exactly count. That would be like me saying that I want to date Brad Pitt, but that I'd settle for Angelina Jolie because she's ****** him before. Doesn't exactly add up.
Really think about what you're doing here, before you make any stupid decisions.
