What do we write on the medical alert bracelet?

 Yes, this is why it is imperative to have all the necessary info either on a flash drive or in a binder that your support person (preferably also your medical power of attorney) can provide to your treatment team.  And why your support person needs to be educated and understand your innards and needs too.  

All your concerns won't work on a bracelet.  Really, the bracelets are for first responders, and most times, they aren't even looked for or used.  99% of the time, we gather history and info from family or looking in your medicine cabinet, or in your wallet or on your fridge for a list.  We will gather what we can and provide it to the Dr at the hospital, where they will continue to gather additional info from whatever sources they can.  If you provide the sources (your PCP, jump drive, health binder, care person, ect) they will use it.  

I haven't had surgery yet, but plan to print one of these cards and carry it when I do.
