Fair Food. What's your fix?

After reading all of these post I am beginning to believe my hometown fair does not have a big selection of foods. What are smoked tri-tip. A month long, my goodness. Our fair runs for a week, and then the State Fair of Indiana goes for I think 8 days. Maybe it is just as well because these types of foods would have me visiting the fair for to often. Karen

I am going on vacation next week to Nova Scotia and I'm hoping to snag a lobster roll sandwich! 

I have never been there but hear many a tail about Nova Scotia. Many a friend rode bikes and said it is just beautiful always wanted to visit there. I also hear there seafood is so fresh and good. Never heard of a lobster roll sandwich. Have fun. Karen

Oh man!!! I have a subscription to BBQ Pit Boys on youtube. The last update was lobster rolls. Oh!!! They looked so good. I'm going to try and make it over here.

This week our county fair is going on. I'm going on Friday. This will be my LAST preop fair, SOOOO, I know this is gonna sound bad but the plan is, large corn dog smothered in mustard, later in the night, larger slice of pizza, then as Im leaving the fair I will stop and get a funnel cake. I know, I'm going over board but I can't ride the rides so I'm gonna enjoy the food. Next year I will go more for the rides and attractions this year it's all about the FOOD!!!

You go for it. After your DS and you are feeling better I bet you will enjoy your loved foods again at the fair. I also love popcorn in butter at the fair. My elephant ears do not bother me, maybe because the dough is fried in grease, smeared in butter and sprinkled with sugar. Good Luck with your journey. Karen

......lol......on a stick! Every thing is on a stick at the Iowa State fair last year I think it was Bacon dipped in chocolate on a stick. They have fried snickers bars on a stick too but I haven't had one but I hear they are good??? I like to share funnel cake with my sweetie!

deep fried snickers and deep fried twix are good! I've tried both at Comedy Sportz in Milwaukee

Wisconsin State fair is approaching, and like Iowa, everything is on a stick as well!

I have always shared my elephant ear with my sweetie of 30 years, but this year it was with my grandson. I missed it so much we went two nights later and did it again with DH. It does get a little costly at $5 a whack, but it comes once a year and the memories are priceless. Karen
