Thanks Julie. I called Dr. K today and talked with Anita. I asked why he would want to do this surgery and that I posted here because I was confused. She called him and called me back about 45 minutes later and said he said this so insurance would approve surgery but he would actually do an RNY. I told Anita I did not want an RNY. That I either wanted take down of VBG or Vbg to DS. That is where I left it because I can't seem to get any info on just a take down either. I guess that might not be possible. I don't know. I do have an appointment with Dr. Anthone on July 13th.  I need to talk with a surgeon just to see what the original operative report is telling them. My GI doctors solution was to be scoped and dilated every couple of weeks for about 3 times to see if we could get it to stay open a little. If not he talked about a stint but, how dangerous that could be. I am sure that would be expensive to a insurance company too and I will argue for quality of life for the DS. Someway some how someone has just got to help. Sure do want the DS though!!!
Wasn't putting Dr. K down. Just never had heard of what Anita was telling me and was also confused as to why she said I should call my insurance company. By the way my insurance company does list gastrojejunostomy as a weight loss procedure so that wouldn't have worked anyway
