Larissa needs help.
She's up here in North Texas, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'm surprised that Dr Stewart won't see her. I don't claim to know everything about uninsured patients, so I don't know if that's the reason he's not seeing her or because she went to Mexico. I would assume that it's the uninsured bit that's causing the biggest issue since I know he has done many revisions on other Dr's patients.
Anna, she can at least call Dr. K for advice. I don't know if he'd take her on with the insurance situation, but he will ALWAYS consult and help especially if someone needs help communicating DS-ology to the general surgeon/other bariatric surgeons types.

Ask me about pregnancy after the Duodenal Switch!
They're here! My surro-sons were born July 21, 2009. Welcome to the world, Benjamin and Daniel. We love you very much!
Ok Seriously, it's time for her Mom to get on the phone and start calling every DS surgeon. SOMEONE has to help her. I mean she is bound to find someone with a heart and compassion for a panicked Momma! Really someone get that woman a list. Or send her to DSfacts.com and tell her to start at the top.
Man o man Praying for Larissa!

I dont know if Eric Wilson has the experience to deal with this. He has only done maybe 10 DSs. She has got to have a 1st class DS surgeon.

You will find information about the Hill-Burton Act at the link below including a list of hospitals that are obligated to provide services. Hill-Burton will not cover private physician fees but it will cover physicians hired by the hospital maybe covered. Perhaps if she can cross reference the surgeons with the obligated facilities -- she might be able to work something out.

I have a name to add to your list of possibilities, even though I don't know his policies on who he will treat now. He is Brent Steward (not to be confused with the more often seen here Dr. Daryl Stewart). Dr. Brent Steward is now in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, which I think (?) is within one day's driving distance from northern-ish Texas. Here is his profile on ObesityHelp: www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+ Brent+Steward+hbp.html . It is from his time in Topeka, KS (one of his partners in practice was Dr. Bernita Berntsen). He moved to OK about one year ago, and I think is working as a general surgeon, but I have not heard of him doing any bariatric surgeries at the new place. Since he is not well-known on the DS board, I will point out that I see at least two of his DS patients on the first/most recent page that I linked to above, who wrote reviews of him: isaiah54mom (5th from the top on that page), and Nancy L. (4th on the list). Obviously he's not in the league of say Dr. Rabkin or Keshishian in experience with the DS and revisions or complications, but if those doctors turn her down, or she is released from the current hospitalization still with problems and her mom can drive her, he is one to consider. Here is the current contact info that I got off of googling him:
